Next Generation Environmentally-Friendly Soldering Technology - international integrated project on lead-free soldering, IMS project, with parts in Europe, Japan and Korea
EFSOT develops advanced solutions for lead-free soldering and recycling technologies in electronics with lowest impact on human health, environment and resources.
EFSOT has, in various aspects, a wide view on the lead-free issue in electronics.
Geographically, EFSOT as an IMS-Project comprises participants from Japan, Korea and the European Union.
Thematically, EFSOT covers the entire life cycle of (lead-free) soldered printed wiring boards and products, ranging from mining and solder manufacturing via assembly to end of life of PWBs.
Scientifically, EFSOT combines expertise and research from manufacturing sciences, biology and medicine, recycling, life cycle and sustainability assessments.
EFSOT thus can offer advanced technological solutions for environment-friendly, sustainable lead-free soldering. Project has been started in Europe since October, 2002.
In the EU, EFSOT is funded by the European Community within the FP5 GROWTH Programme under the contract number G1RD-CT-2002-00838.
PROJECT N° : IMS-2001-00028
ACRONYM : EFSOT
EU-Coordinator: TU Berlin, Otmar Deubzer
